With graduation in the near future for high school seniors, it might seem like you’ve missed your chance to apply to college. Even with some college admissions deadlines behind us, there are still many options available if you’d still like to apply to college.
Here are a few options for those of you who are still trying to figure out that next step:
Apply to Colleges with Rolling Admissions
While a number of colleges have applications that close in January or February, there are many that have spring deadlines or offer rolling admissions. Rolling admissions means they accept students throughout the year instead of having one set acceptance period. If the school you are interested in has a rolling admissions process, you could get your acceptance answer in as little as a few days after applying. This is true even if you apply to college late in the year. Take a look at NC college deadlines to ensure that you don’t miss them!
Use the College Redirection Pool
The College Redirection Pool is another great option for late appliers or people who weren’t admitted into their first choice. This tool opens from April 1 to August 31 and helps students find schools that may not have been on their radar in the fall. Colleges and universities that still have open slots can view a student’s profile and recruit them if they meet the admissions requirements. This turns the tables on the standard application process and is an opportunity for schools to reach out to you. The College Redirection Pool is another opportunity to find the school that is the right fit for you.
If you are feeling behind in the application process, there is still time to figure it out. The next step is important and all options should be considered with care. There are still many more opportunities out there for you, so all that’s left is to find the right one and reach for it. Make your profile on CFNC.org to get started!
